Laurinda Cheng (She/They), M.Ed.
Registered Psychotherapist (#009137)
Like many in the caring professions, I became a psychotherapist because I wanted to help people. I was humbled to learn that I would need to undergo my own healing and transformation if I was going to be able to support others in their journey. Know that I walk alongside my clients and students as someone who has also looked into the darkness to find the light—and is still looking. I have learned that it is better to go together than alone. I try to support every client and student in realizing their capacity for connection to themselves and beyond.
Education
I have a B.A. from Simon Fraser University in Psychology and Political Science, and an M.Ed. in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa. I have also completed a 1-year post graduate training program in complex and developmental trauma from the Complex Trauma Training Centre/NARM Training Institute.

Passion
I have a passion for movement and dance that started during my childhood, and that has taken me around the world. I have extensive training as a professional dancer in movement and somatics across many modalities. I am exploring ways of more fully integrating the body and movement into my practice, and aim to support all clients and students in feeling more alive in the body!
